Peter Edgar


Peter epitomises the term ‘quality service’, which is why he is widely respected in the local and insurance industry communities. Patriarch of the EIB family, Peter started his career in insurance with his father in 1967, Peter gained experience in the field before being promoted to manage an office in Echuca in 1973. He then took over his father’s business in 1976 and has since grown Edgar Insurance Brokers into the strong and successful business it is today. Peter strives to always deliver the goods to the client, and keep pace with the ever-changing insurance industry.

Shannon Edgar


Shannon began his insurance journey with CGU in 2002. Shannon is responsible for a range of areas including providing staff development, ensuring the business complies with industry standards at the highest levels, manages client accounts, maintains relationships with our insurance policy underwriters, and coordinates the day to day running of the business.


Brennan Edgar


Since 2007 Brennan has been a part of Edgar Insurance Brokers, most recently as a director. Brennan is one of our most aggressive insurance brokers and personally manages some of EIB’s major accounts. Aside from a cunning eye for business insurance policy, Brennan is responsible for office systems and procedures, staff training, business forward planning efforts, and ensuring that Edgar Insurance Brokers stays compliant to industry standards.


Renee Brooker

Assistant Account Executive

Renee is the newest recruit to our firm bringing a fresh approach after having spent the past 18 years working in the banking industry, where she assisted clients with loans, day to day banking processes and small domestic insurances.
Renee now mainly assists our director, Shannon with servicing our clients from domestic & commercial backgrounds, and is really looking forward to expanding her knowledge in the Agribusiness field, having a family-ran farm herself.


Fiona Gough

Since 2010 Fiona has been a strong retail insurance Account Executive at Edgar Insurance Brokers. Michelle began at Edgar Insurance Brokers back in 2012, building knowledge and experience in all areas of the insurance industry, including underwriter, claims handling and office duties.
Michelle has been able to pass on that expert knowledge, providing vast experience and a bubbly personality that has become an asset of Edgar Insurance Brokers.
The local Benalla girl now runs our Benalla office, staying true to our view that local is best!

Claims Manager

We are lucky to have Theonie as a part of the EIB family, as she brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to the business and our clients.
Taking on the role as Claims Manager, Theonie has brought efficiency and compassion to the role, strengthening our relationships with clients and ensuring you get looked after when making an insurance policy claim.


Julie Cameron

Account Executive

Previously working in motor vehicle insurance.
